Who We Are
Solar Calculators Pro is an independent website that builds free, India-specific solar calculators and planning guides. The site launched in July 2026 and is published at solarcalculatorspro.online. We are not a solar company, installer, lender or government body: our only product is the information on this site, and it is free to use without signup.
Everything on the site is published under the Solar Calculators Pro name rather than individual bylines, because every calculator and guide uses the same documented formulas and data. The organisation is accountable for every number it shows.
Our Mission
Most households in India meet rooftop solar through a single quote: one system size, one price, one payback figure. Our mission is to give every household the tools to check that quote independently, using the same formulas an installer should be able to justify, local sun conditions, state electricity tariffs and the current PM Surya Ghar subsidy rules.
What We Publish
- 29 free calculators across four areas: sizing & design, cost & finance, performance and battery & backup.
- Local data: the main solar calculator covers 101 cities across all 36 states and union territories, with 29 state and DISCOM domestic tariff tables.
- Five in-depth guides that explain every formula with worked Indian examples.
How We Work
- Conservative by design. We apply a 0.8 performance ratio, round system sizes up and value exported units at a cautious ₹3 per unit, so estimates lean realistic rather than optimistic.
- Open formulas. Every calculator shows the formula it uses, and every assumption is published on our methodology and data sources page.
- Primary sources. Subsidy rules follow the national PM Surya Ghar scheme and tariffs follow state electricity tariff schedules. We link to the official sources so you can check them yourself.
- Corrected in the open. Verified corrections are applied to every tool that uses the affected figure, and data changes are recorded in the data update log. See our corrections policy.
Independence: What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell, install or quote solar systems, and we do not recommend specific installers or brands.
- We are not affiliated with any government ministry, DISCOM, subsidy portal, manufacturer, lender or installation company.
- We do not accept payment to change a calculation, rank a product or place a link in our content.
- We do not give personalised financial, legal or engineering advice. The disclaimer explains what our estimates are and are not.
How We Are Funded
Solar Calculators Pro is free to use and is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense, as described in our privacy policy and cookie policy. Advertisers have no say in what we publish or how our calculators work, and an ad appearing on a page is not an endorsement. We do not earn commissions from installers, manufacturers or lenders.
