1. Who Publishes This Content
All content on this site is published by Solar Calculators Pro, an independent publisher of India-specific solar planning tools (see about us). Pages carry the organisation's name rather than individual bylines because every calculator and guide uses the same documented formulas and data, and the organisation is accountable for every figure it publishes.
2. Our Standards
- Accuracy over optimism. We use conservative assumptions, such as a 0.8 performance ratio and a ₹3 per unit export value, so that estimates do not overpromise generation or savings.
- Primary sources first. Subsidy rules come from the national PM Surya Ghar scheme, tariffs from state electricity tariff schedules, and engineering rules from standard design practice. Sources are listed on our methodology page.
- Transparency. Every calculator states its formula and assumptions, and every constant is documented on the methodology page.
- Consistency. Guides use the same constants as the calculators, so a worked example in a guide matches what the tool returns for the same inputs.
- Clear limits. Outputs are labelled as indicative planning estimates, shown as ranges where uncertainty is high, and never presented as quotes or guarantees.
3. How Content Is Created
New calculators and guides start from the underlying formula and the official rules that apply in India. Calculators share common formulas and constants, documented on the methodology page, so a correction to a constant or rule is applied to every tool that uses it. Before a page is published, its worked examples are checked against the live calculators, and its assumptions are added to the methodology page.
4. Keeping Content Current
Solar subsidies and electricity tariffs change. When a scheme is revised or a state issues a new tariff order, we update the affected data and record the change, with its date, in the data update log. The "Updated" date on each guide reflects its last content revision.
5. Independence and Advertising
- We do not sell, install or quote solar systems, and we do not recommend specific installers or brands.
- We do not publish sponsored content, accept paid placements or use affiliate links, and no one can pay to change a calculation.
- The site is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence on our content, and an ad is not an endorsement.
- We are not affiliated with any government body, DISCOM, subsidy portal, manufacturer, lender or installer.
6. Corrections Policy
If you find an error or an outdated figure, email contact@solarcalculatorspro.online with:
- the page address and, for a calculator, the exact inputs you used (city, bill or units, system size and so on);
- what you believe is wrong; and
- a link to the official source, such as a tariff order or subsidy notification, where one exists.
We usually reply within 2 to 3 working days. Verified corrections are made in the calculation code or on the affected page, and any correction that changes calculator data is recorded in the data update log with its date. We do not silently change published figures.
7. Feedback and Suggestions
Suggestions for new calculators, bug reports and questions are welcome through the contact page. Tell us what inputs you have and what answer you were looking for, and we will consider it for the roadmap.
